Since then, he's signed new sponsors, filed multiple magazine profiles, traveled the world and — this week — picked up a cool $100,000. Not a bad year. "We're really happy with the result," says Taylor Steele. "The voting was really tight for a bunch of the best sections, but it would be hard to deny that Meola isn't deserving of this win."
